Die Tuishuise is an elegant, historic street of restored Victorian era Karoo guest houses. More than two dozen Tuishuise line Market Street up to the Victoria Manor, a grand old colonial hotel, established in 1848. Sandra Antrobus, the owner and restorer or Die Tuishuise, has decorated each house in its own distinctive theme of period prints and antique furniture, to reflect an atmosphere of understated elegance, reminiscent of the lifestyles of the English and Dutch Settlers at the turn of the century. Guests are afforded the rare opportunity to escape the present and enjoy the historically rich surrounding, as well as the personalised service and amenities required by today’s discerning traveller.
Cradock is a place of literary legends, war heroes and anti-Apartheid struggle icons. For nature lovers, Die Tuishuise is a great base from which to explore the unique landscapes and animals of the Mountain Zebra National Park. The river town of Cradock is also a great place for fly-fishing and many water related adventures
